Horticulture Hot Line
THe Berks County (Pennsylvania) Hort Hotline is staffed 5 days a week, April through October by Penn State Master Gardeners with advanced training in diagnosing plant problems. We annually answer more than 1400 calls, offering free, researched information on everything from houseplants to towering trees, lawns, vegetable gardens, fruit, composting, insects, weeds, mulch and more. Our Master Gardeners can also indentify plants and insects.
If it is impossible to arrive at a diagnosis or identification in the Berks Extension office, samples will be sent to the Pathology or Entomology labs at Penn State main campus.
The Hort Hotline may be accessed 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday by calling 610-378-1327 or by email (Berksmg@psu.edu).
