Poison Prevention Program Reaches 12,000 Students
Last year the Pesticide Education Program and county Master Gardener programs partnered to share a valuable lesson of poison prevention with 12,000 1st grade students across the state.
501 Pollinator Friendly Gardens Certified in Pennsylvania
The number of Penn State Master Gardener certified Pollinator Friendly Gardens in Pennsylvania continues to grow! 501 gardens in 54 counties have earned the privilege of displaying the Pollinator Friendly Garden sign. These gardens are wonderful examples for others who would like to help our pollinators. Berks and Schuylkill counties added the most new gardens this year, with Armstrong, Centre and Lancaster close behind. Lancaster County, however, still leads the state for the most gardens certified to date – an enviable total of 70. York is second statewide with 47 certified gardens. Berks and Centre Counties each have 28. Make the commitment today to help our pollinators. It’s easy to make your yard and gardens pollinator friendly.
