Registration Details

The registration fee for this program is only $5.00 this year and includes handouts and light morning refreshments. Door prizes, including seeds, soil test kits, and hand tools, will be given. Space is limited, so please register by contacting Penn State Extension in Cumberland County by March 15, 2017. Walk-ins will be accepted only if space is available.

Event Details

  • Doors open at 8:30 a.m. for registration and light morning refreshments
  • 9:00 a.m. Educator Liz Bosak will talk on “Successful Seed Starting Indoors.”
    Starting your own seeds is a great way to get exactly the vegetable varieties that you want. Liz shares tips and techniques for germinating seeds indoors and growing vigorous and healthy seedlings that will be in prime condition for transitioning to outdoor gardens or containers.
  • Master Gardener Bob MacGregor talks on Soil, new vegetable varieties for 2017 and pest management.
    Healthy plants begin with healthy soils and you will learn the basics of soil improvement. Integrated pest management for some of the worst vegetable pests, will also be covered during the program.
