Bring a bag lunch with you. Coffee, tea and bottled water will be provided.
Morning Session (10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon)
- 10:00-11:00 a.m. - Composting and Soils - organic methods to increase soil fertility for a successful season
- 11:00 a.m.-12:00 noon - Managing rainfall in times of drought and extreme storms - rain barrels, soaker hoses, rain gardens, safe water storage
Afternoon Session (1:00 - 3:00 p.m.)
- 1:00-2:00 p.m. - Managing pests and pathogens in an organic garden - strategies to manage pests with a minimum of herbicides and pesticides
- 2:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. - Early planting of cool weather crops - peas, spinach, and root crops.
We will have free handouts on all our topics and free consultations with our Carbon County Penn State Master Gardeners.
