We will focus on:

  • streamlining our organizations administration,
  • tailoring programs around unique areas of excellence, and
  • implementing statewide program teams to deliver high quality programs in each of Pennsylvania’s 67 counties.

What this means locally is that we are now part of the Pocono District which encompasses Carbon, Monroe, Pike and Wayne counties. As the new District Director I am excited to be working with these four counties.

Staff will be working in statewide program teams, which focus on the needs of key industries and audiences and in the areas in which the College of Agricultural Sciences has unique strengths and proven quality:

  • Poultry
  • Dairy
  • Livestock
  • Equine
  • Field and Forage Crops
  • Renewable Natural Resources
  • Horticulture
  • Family and Consumer Sciences
  • Food Safety and Quality
  • 4-H Youth Development
  • Ag Entrepreneurship
  • Economic and Community Development

As we look to the future, the new program model holds promise as well as possible change and challenges. I assure you your county extension office is still available to answer your questions and requests for information. We look forward to assisting you.
