Older Adults Can Grow Stronger
Posted: November 14, 2012
GS was developed at Tufts University for persons 40 years of age and older, to improve strength, bone density, stamina, mood, sleep and weight.
Participants say:
- GS makes strength training fun!
- It’s a great way to beat the winter humdrums.
- GS motivates me to exercise in ways that I can’t manage on my own, and it’s good to know I’m meeting recommendations for a healthier life.
Nancy Grotevant, District Director of Penn State Extension says, “GS meets the needs of veteran exercisers as well as those who are just starting out. Working with free weights allows people to set the bar at their own pace.”
Two fitness plans are offered: 6 weeks for $40 or 12 weeks for $80. Plan to attend an information session on December 4, 2012 to receive required paperwork. Call 570-296-3400 or stop by the Penn State Extension office, 514 Broad Street, Milford PA 18337 and register for the afternoon information session at 2:00 – 2:30 PM or the evening session at 6:00 – 6:30 PM. Space is limited.
