Penn State Extension Master Gardener Class of 2012 Commences
Posted: October 5, 2011
Twenty—eight incoming Master Gardener interns are bringing their skills, interests and enthusiasm to fuel existing Extension projects in areas including youth horticulture, adult environmental education and demonstration gardens. To prepare them for indoctrination to the group, interns are currently attending a series of college level courses on horticultural related topics taught by University faculty and staff.
Kimberly Labno, the Master Gardener Coordinator for Philadelphia County Extension, enjoys working with the newcomers to facilitate their orientation to Extension work and the wider group of active Master Gardeners. As part of the learning experience, the interns are with Kimberly in creating short presentations on horticultural and environmental stewardship issues. The Master Gardeners would like to invite members of our community to attend the first session of workshop presentations on Wednesday, November 9th, 2011. The cost is free and seating is limited. You can contact the Master Gardener Coordinator at kal17@psu.edu for more information and to reserve a seat.
