Dealers
To become certified, each dealer manager will need to take and pass an exam, given by the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture (PDA). The deadline for obtaining this certification is December 11, 2012.
If a certified commercial or public pesticide applicator is employed at the dealership, that person can be "grand-fathered" in to receive this new dealer manager certification. However, the deadline for this is still December 11, 2012. After this date, everyone wishing to be certified will need to take the exam. All exams until December 11, 2012 will be free.
The Penn State Pesticide Education Program has been working cooperatively with the PDA to develop a study manual to help dealer managers prepare for the exam.
Unlike certified pesticide applicators, once the exam is taken and passed, dealer managers will not need to attend recertification meetings to maintain their certification.

This information will help you determine if you need a secondary containment unit and/or a containment pad. This information should be helpful to dealers and applicators, as well as inspectors.
