Household Hazardous Waste Program
The Department of Environment Protection maintains the Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Program, which helps citizens dispose of household hazardous wastes (HHW) through organized county collection programs. The HHW program sometimes partners with the CHEMSWEEP program to dispose of pesticides.
Household Hazardous Wastes (HHW) are wastes produced in our households that are hazardous in nature, but are not regulated as hazardous waste, under federal and state laws. Included are such items as old paints and paint related products, pesticides, pool chemicals, drain cleaners, and degreasers and other car care products.
Find out when the next HHW collection will be in your county.
