Recognize, Prevent and Solve Bed Bug Infestations using IPM

Integrated Pest Management (IPM) combines knowledge of the pest with actions that prevent pests and control them in the safest manner.

In this training, those who serve as social workers and community health / social workers will learn:

  • Key information about bed bugs in order to effectively combat them
  • How to inspect for and recognize bed bug presence
  • What Integrated Pest Management (IPM) for bed bugs is
  • What methods of control are effective (and which are not)
  • How to communicate with your clients about bed bugs
  • How to protect yourself from bed bugs on the job
  • Tips for setting up agency-wide prevention protocols to avoid spreading bed bugs
  • How to hire a bed bug-competent pest control company

Participants will receive informational flyers for their own and their clients’ information and a list of credible resources for bed bug information. Integrated Pest Management (IPM) information and identification for other common household pests will also be provided.

Time: 1.5 – 2.5 hrs (depending upon audience needs)
Cost: $200 hr plus $2 per person for handouts
