Pesticide and Container Disposal Information
The Department of Agriculture's CHEMSWEEP Program provides farmers and other licensed applicators in selected counties a means to dispose of canceled, suspended, or unwanted pesticide products. Applicators can legally dispose of waste pesticides, generally at little or no cost.
Plastic Pesticide Container Recycling is another Department of Agriculture program, which provides licensed applicators a means to dispose of empty, cleaned pesticide containers. Many recycling stations are located around the state.
The Department of Environment Protection maintains the Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Program, which helps citizens dispose of household hazardous wastes (HHW) through organized county collection programs. The HHW program sometimes partners with the CHEMSWEEP program to dispose of pesticides.
