Home Canning Program

Canning methods have changed since grandma put up her first jar of peaches.

Whether you have never canned or would like to update your knowledge of home canning, this program is for you.

Participants learn:

  • Basic principles of canning -- why we do what we do
  • Boiling water bath or pressure canner -- which to use?
  • Current methods of canning
  • Equipment to use
  • Recommended resources

Home canning can save money, provide quality, nutritious food for your family, and be a satisfying and rewarding experience. However, improperly canned foods can be a source of wasted food, frustration, serious illness even death.

Whether you have canned for many years, or would like to try canning for the first time, I invite you to try canning for the first time, I invite you, your family and friends to attend "Home Canning Update" to hear the most up-to-date information on home canning.
