savewaterpa.org Seeks To Conserve Water In Pennsylvania

Posted: February 11, 2011

A Technical Assistance Center that would assist residents, communities, and businesses with the conservation of water was a requirement of the water planning act. The center is now a reality in the form of a web site: http://www.savewaterpa.org/. The mission of Save Water PA is to “promote voluntary water conservation and provide technical assistance on water use issues, including practices and measures that reduce demand for water, improve water-use efficiency, reduce water leakage, and enhance ground water recharge.

You can visit the website and take a tour. The background tab supplies the history leading to the formation of Save Water PA. There are tabs for business, school, government, home owners, utilities, and agriculture. While the site is still under construction, you will find a lot of awareness information about water in general posted there already as well as a lot of ideas about how to conserve water. The site also shows lots of potential for the future. There is a place for discussion among members, a calendar of events, and a method for submitting your water resource materials (including photos) for possible inclusion on the site.
