This research report summarizes results from a 2006-2007 study of 701 private water wells across the state. Water quality results are summarized for bacteria, pH, total dissolved solids, nitrate, arsenic, pesticides and various other parameters. Water well owner opinions and management practices are also discussed along with the correlation between water well construction and drinking water quality.
Roadside dumps are a form of illegal dumping wherein wastes are disposed of in an unauthorized area, typically quiet areas that afford easy access by vehicles. This publication addresses the complex issue of water quality as it is affected by solid wastes that have been mismanaged.
