USDA Rural Developmentā€™s Rural Energy for America Program (REAP) grant/guaranteed loan program is designed to help agricultural producers and rural small businesses reduce energy costs and consumption and help meet the nation's critical energy needs. REAP grants and loan guarantees provide funding for energy efficiency improvement projects as well as renewable energy projects. Energy efficiency projects include any energy savings measures to businesses or agricultural operations. Renewable energy projects include renewable energy sources such as solar, geothermal, wind, biomass, or hydroelectric.

New, more efficient evaporators and reverse osmosis machines for maple syrup production may qualify for this program. Visit the USDA Rural Development website for more information about the USDA Rural Development REAP grant/guaranteed loan Program or call 610-791-9810, ext. 113 and speak to Angela Callie, Loan Specialist. Applications are accepted year round.
