Local “Celebrities” Take Part in Montgomery County 4-H Fair Activities

Posted: August 15, 2014

One of the highlights of the annual Montgomery County 4-H Fair is the celebrity competition that takes place on the last day of the fair.

This year’s schedule featured a new competition – a race to dress a pygmy goat!  An all-star group competed for top honors this year.

Participants included (left to right) State Rep. Mike Vereb, State Rep. Matt Bradford, Commissioner Bruce Caster, Commissioner Josh Shapiro, State Rep. Mark Painter, The Reporter editor-in-chief Ann Cornell, State Senator Bob Mensch, Commissioner Leslie Richards, State Rep. Marcy Toepel, and Skippack Twp. Supervisor Nick Fountain.

Feather boas and net tutus were flying as the contestants tried to best each other in the exciting event. Winner for the day was State Rep. Mike Vereb with Commissioner Josh Shapiro as First Runner-Up. Many thanks to the members of the 4-H Silver Pails Goat Club for providing the goats and assisting with the contest. We greatly appreciate the participants who took time from their busy schedules to participate in the 4-H Fair!
