Provides limited resource audiences, especially those with young children, practical skills and support they need to change their eating behaviors and discover a healthier lifestyle. Families and youth who live within federal poverty guidelines or who qualify for participation in the WIC program are eligible to participate in EFNEP. This program is now offering Eating Smart and Moving More classes which offer simple solutions to save money and eat healthy!
Offered in cooperation with community partners such as schools and community centers. Program participants learn practical skills in healthy eating, food safety, and budgeting. The program is offered exclusively for Food Stamp recipients and for Food Stamp eligible persons and their children. The program is available in Adams, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Cumberland, Dauphin, Delaware, Lancaster, Lebanon, Luzerne, Schuylkill, Sullivan, Westmoreland, and York.
Provides food and nutrition education to youth living in low-income urban and rural areas. They will learn about making healthy choices, physical activity, food safety, and food preparation in a fun and supportive atmosphere.
