Lehigh County Farmer Wins $2,500 for
Lehigh County 4-H
Through America’s Farmers Grow CommunitiesSM Program
Harold and Kenneth Gehringer, of Gehringer Four Springs Farm in Kutztown, have been selected as a winner in the America’s Farmers Grow CommunitiesSM Program, which gave farmers the opportunity to win $2,500 for their favorite local nonprofit organizations. The Monsanto Fund sponsors the program, and winning farmers designate a local nonprofit organization to benefit from the donations. The Gehringer’s have designated the Lehigh County 4-H, located in Allentown, to receive the donation.
Gehringer said he was very excited to have been selected as the winner for Lehigh County, “I am very happy to be the winner for Lehigh County. The 4-H sure can use the money, and I know they will be very grateful for this donation.”
Kelly Weisner, Lehigh County Extension Educator, 4-H/Youth Development, says, “This has been a huge piece of excitement for the Gehringer family and the Lehigh County 4-H. We are so grateful to the Monsanto Fund for their generosity, and look forward to the wonderful programs that this money will fund for the kids.”
The $2,500 donation was awarded at the Quality Assurance and Ethics event, held on April 2nd.
Thank you to the Gehringer family for nominating 4-H for this gift!
