Centennial Event
Posted: November 15, 2012
Lackawanna County Commissioners gave a Proclamation and declared October 20, 2012 as “4-H of Pennsylvania Day” in Lackawanna County.
State Representative Sid Michaels Kavulich was there to congratulate and give 4-H his best wishes for another 100 years. Current and past leaders were recognized with a 4-H Centennial memento.
Current members and leaders had the opportunity to meet some alumni members and leaders to share memories and stories as they reminisced over old newspapers, photos, and even ribbons from the good ole days. A very educational trip it was to walk down memory lane with alumni. It was amazing how many clubs and members 4-H once had. Our motto this year is “Building on the Past to Make a Better Future.” Lackawanna County 4-H is reaching out to former members and leaders to help stir the interest in our county to help make 4-H as popular as it once was. Thank you to all who planned and attended this event!
