The Indiana County Commissioners and the Human Service Council recently honored volunteer service in the county. A 4-H club and a leader won special awards. Pictured in the front row are County Commissioner Patty Evanko, Pauline McCormick, nominee; Pam Nealer, Volunteer of the Year, and Sandy Harbor, Human Service Council president. In the second row are County Commissioners David Frick and Rod Ruddock and Jesse Isenberg and Connie Bruner, representing Gordon 4-H Club, the winning Group of the Year.

Indiana County No Longer Operating West Nile Virus Program

Due to state funding cuts, 2011 is the last year Indiana County will conduct a surveillance and control program for mosquitoes and the West Nile Virus. We have applied for and received grants annually since 2001 to reduce the threat to Indiana County residents from West Nile Virus.
