Did you know that Pennsylvania 4-Hers can launch rockets, sew their own clothes, grow their own food, work with Seeing Eye puppies and other service animals, cook their own meals, repair small engines, learn about computers, travel to other states and other countries, learn about agricultural and environmental sciences, work with either large or small animals, and lots more?
We provide professional development opportunities and educational information on caring for children.
The CYFC is a University-wide initiative that brings together more than 400 faculty, representing a range of disciplines (human development, the liberal arts, education, agriculture, and medicine), in efforts to promote collaborative research, outreach and teaching that address critical social issues facing children, youth, and families, and serve critical community needs.

The purpose of this site is to provide professionals with resources and materials about family and youth resiliency, and to promote thriving relationships. Our goal is to strengthen the capacity of families, youth, and communities to be partners in building strong families, fostering positive youth development, and creating caring, safe, and productive communities.
This program is a nine-lesson after school program for all children ages 8-12, especially those who are at risk for becoming overweight or who are overweight. Children attend the program for 1.5 hour lessons to learn about making healthy food choices and ways to increase physical activity.

And, now we can add the resources of the Goodling Institute to help develop more literate families through family literacy programs."
