Fruit Leather
Children will need help from an adult! Don't forget to drink water while you hike.

Note: This recipe is best prepared the night before the hike

Ingredients:
- 2 cups fully ripened fruit (do not use bananas or citrus fruit)
- 2 Tbsp honey or sugar
- Suggested seasonings:
1 Tbsp cinnamon, nutmeg, or lemon zest
Equipment:
- Blender
- Cutting board
- Knife
- Baking sheet
- Plastic wrap
Directions:
- Wash fruit and cut into large chunks (no need to remove the edible peels).
- Put fruit in blender.
- Add honey or sugar.
- Add seasonings if desired.
- Blend for 15 seconds.
- Cover baking sheet with plastic wrap.
- Spoon individual servings (about 1/2 cup) of fruit mixture 1/8 inch thick onto plastic wrap. Set baking sheet with fruit mixture on sunny windowsill for 12 hours, or put in oven for 4 hours at 150° F with door ajar.
- Fruit leather is ready when servings are firm and not sticky.
To Serve:
Tightly wrap each leather in plastic wrap.
