Can I Enroll Now?
The 2017 open enrollment period runs from December 1, 2016 to January 31, 2017. When you enroll (purchase insurance) determines when your policy becomes effective. See the chart below. If you miss open enrollment, you may have to wait until the 2018 open enrollment period unless you have a special circumstance such as getting married or becoming age 26 and can no longer be insured under your parents’ health insurance policy. However, health insurance may be available to you in Pennsylvania’s private health insurance market (i.e., through companies that are not listed on healthcare.gov.)
