"Rorin" Crunch Bars
Children will need help from an adult! Don't forget to drink water while you hike.

Ingredients:
- 3/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 4 egg whites
- 1/4 cup apple juice concentrate, thawed
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 2 cups flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2-1/2 cups low-fat granola
- 2 cups (8 ounces)
reduced-fat or fat-free cheddar cheese
Equipment:
- Large mixing bowl
- Medium mixing bowl
- Measuring cups
- Measuring spoons
- 13 x 9 baking pan, lightly greased
- Oven
- Whisk
- Zip-top bags
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- In a large bowl, combine applesauce, eggs whites, apple juice concentrate, and oil. Mix well with a whisk.
- In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Mix well.
- Add dry ingredients in medium bowl to wet ingredients in large bowl. Mix well.
- Stir in 2 cups of granola and 1-½ cups of cheese. Mix well.
- Spread in the bottom of a lightly greased 13 x 9 baking pan.
- Top bars with remaining cheese and granola.
- Bake 20–24 minutes or until edges are lightly browned.
- Cool for at least 10 minutes before cutting bars.
