Wildlife in Your Backyard Woods Workshop
Date and Location
When (Date/Time)
January 27, 2012, 8:30 AM - 4:00 PMThis workshop is designed specifically (but not exclusively) for smaller landscapes. These small lots are a big deal, for the vast majority of Pennsylvania’s landowners have less than 10 acres. This land, wooded or not, can provide many benefits for wildlife.
By enhancing your woods or creating natural areas on your lot, you can attract & support wildlife on your land while also reducing your energy costs, cleaning our water and filtering our air.
Owners of even the smallest landscapes can make a positive difference for Pennsylvania’s wildlife through planning and implementing simple stewardship practices learned at the Wildlife In Your Backyard Woods Workshop.
The entire workshop will take place indoors at the Morgantown Holiday Inn. All participants will remain together in the morning sessions and then choose their afternoon sessions based on personal interest.
Topics will include:
• Wildlife habitat projects any landowner can implement
• Increasing the diversity of birds that visit your land
• Beneficial insects
• Converting lawn for wildlife
• Managing deer
• Evaluating your lands potential for wildlife
• Riparian habitats
Cost for workshop: $40 per individual or $50 per couple
(includes workshop materials, lunch and light morning refreshments )
Participants must register by January 20th.
