2012 Tree Identification Class
Date and Location
When (Date/Time)
January 16, 2012 9:30 AM to January 17, 2012 3:00 PMTrees are the anchors of residential landscape design. Healthy trees can reduce home heating and cooling costs, lower crime and gentrify new housing developments. Your customers are looking for attractive, pest tolerant trees and rely on you to select the right tree for them.
In this two day class, Penn State horticulture professor Dr. David Sanford will cover deciduous and coniferous trees recommended for Pennsylvania landscapes, discuss key identification characteristics and growing requirements, and share information about pest and disease issues.
We will meet in the classroom, but spend approximately half of the class time outdoors looking at the trees on the Kutztown University campus. Come dress prepared for the weather.
Emphasis will be on trees that are readily available in the nursery trade. Add some new trees to the palate that you offer your customers.
Cost is $70 per person and includes lunches and handouts.
