A season long, highly rated, weekly vegetable garden growing experience. Master Gardeners of Franklin County, led by Darl Hospelhorn and Linda Horst, will teach everything you need to know to grow great vegetables, beginning with spring garden preparation, and ending with the final fall harvest.

The StrongWomen/Growing Stronger program is a safe, effective strength-training and nutrition program for individuals 40 and older who have been active or sedentary for the past few years and are interested in improving their health.
Mark your calendars now for the 2013 International Fruit Tree Association Study Tour July 16-17, in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. The theme of the tour is Heritage and Innovation. Plan on a barbecue at the Round Barn Orchard on the first night of the tour. The Young Grower Alliance (YGA) led the planning for the tour, which will include optional opportunities to visit orchards on the 15th in Bedford County and the 18th in Thurmont, Maryland. The Historic Gettysburg Hotel will be the tour Headquarters. **Young grower scholarship opportunities available**

This is the one day every year that Landisville throws open its doors to the general public. While we always have a featured speaker and many concurrent educational sessions, the farm with its numerous research trials and the Penn State Flower Trials are the real stars of this event. The Hardwood Lumber Grading Short Course will cover and explain the NHLA hardwood lumber grades and will offer hands-on grading of hardwood lumber. The course will benefit anyone involved in the lumber industry who needs a basic understanding of hardwood lumber grades, including: traders and sawyers; those who edge or end trim lumber; lumber buyers and rough-mill managers; and sales representatives.
