listeriosis have occurred due to the
presence of harmful bacteria in many
types of meat and dairy products.
Soft-ripened cheeses and
underpasteurized milk have caused
several cases, but recently, ready-to-eat
(RTE) meat and poultry products
have caused hundreds of illnesses and
dozens of deaths.
