A two-level educational program to improve agricultural business owners’ skills in the area of farm financial recordkeeping and analysis.
The first level teaches basic farm financial recordkeeping and analysis (offered as a single-day workshop or multi-part webinar). The second level (debuting autumn 2011) is a hands-on course in farm recordkeeping and analysis using QuickbooksTM software. Basic level participants understand key accounting and financial management/ analysis principles, create/understand financial statements, and analyze these statements for key business decisions. Advanced participants will use computers to prepare financial statements, budgets and reports for analysis and enhanced financial risk management.
