My research is primarily designed to provide insights into real world issues faced by farmers. I've spent a lot of time looking at the profitability of some types of genetically modified corn (i.e., Bt corn). I've also done some work assessing whether or not robotic milkers may be profitable on a dairy farm.
I try to be responsive to emerging issues and to be sure that the results are disseminated to those who need to know. Dissemination is accomplished by publishing in peer-reviewed journals, presenting papers at professional meetings, integrating findings into Extension education, etc.
