Donald E. Tanner, Extension Educator in McKean County serves as a multicounty Extension Director in Cameron, McKean and Potter Counties. Don began his career with Penn State Cooperative Extension in 1978 as a program assistant in McKean County. In 1985 Don joined Penn State Cooperative Extension as an Extension Educator in Schuylkill County. In 1989 he returned home as the 4-H Educator for McKean County and served in multi county roles as volunteer/leadership development educator. He was promoted to County Extension Director for the multicounty unit in 2004.
Don’s greatest satisfaction has been watching the young people grow up in the 4-H program and return to give back to the program. He is proud of his accomplishments of working with the people in the multi-county area and observing the impact in his own community. He enjoys being able to share extension resources and giving back to the communities he works in.
