Carla Snyder is an Agriculture Entrepreneurship & Marketing Educator with Penn State Extension in Adams County. She focuses on education surrounding marketing of agricultural products directly to the consumer. This includes consumer education, farmers’ market development and value added product development.
Her current focus is on education bolstering new and diversifying hard cider producers with the skills they need to start their business. This includes marketing research and presentations as well as business planning and development assistance including the recent release of a guidebook for start-up hard cider businesses in Pennsylvania.
In addition, Carla focuses on agricultural international development, primarily in Central American including leading the Rural Extensionist Program in Nicaragua as well as chairing the Globalizing Extension Committee.
She is a former farmers’ market manager, agricultural land conservationist, and home bakery owner. Carla is a local foods movement enthusiast, who enjoys volunteering on an organic vegetable farm, and traveling the world collecting poorly taken photos.
