The goal of my extension education and adaptive research program is to develop integrated management strategies for important and emerging diseases of the major vegetable crops grown in Pennsylvania and provide statewide leadership in the area of vegetable pathology. Current research/extension projects include the elucidation and management of onion bacterial diseases, use of cover and green manure crops form the management of soil-borne pathogens, and delivery of tomato/potato early and late blight disease forecasting information via the Pennsylvania PIPE.
