You can call 610-690-2671 or email delawaremg@psu.edu . You can bring plant samples, photos and your questions to the Penn State Extension Office in Smedley Park. Volunteers have Penn State College of Agricultural Sciences publications available, as well as an extensive research library. Samples can be forwarded to the College of Agricultural Sciences if the Master Gardener cannot provide an answer.
In 2010, 34 Master Gardener volunteers responded to 1700 client requests. 942 of the clients were repeat users of the HortLine.
Clients’ responses to informal surveys included:
“Ron’s the best! He is seldom stumped, but when he doesn’t know the answer he will continue researching until he finds it and will call me back."
"The Master Gardeners are always courteous and take a lot of time with me each time I call."
"Always great information from knowledgeable gardeners."
