8th Annual Dauphin County MG Spring Workshop Series

Registration begins at 9:00 a.m., with all the programs from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. Refreshments are provided and lucky participants will win door prizes. The workshops will be held at the Dauphin County Agriculture and Natural Resources Center, 1451 Peters Mountain Road, Dauphin, PA 17018.
On Saturday, February 23, 2013, learn how to have “Free Plants for Spring,” a hands-on program on plant propagation, from Pamela Shuman, Penn State Master Gardener, Dauphin County. On Saturday, March 2, 2013, learn “How to Grow Dinner,” the fun and fine art of at-home vegetable growing, from George Weigel, Harrisburg Patriot News Gardening Columnist and Professional Landscaper.
On Saturday, March 9, 2013, Jim Welshans, retired Turfgrass Educator, Penn State Extension, Dauphin County, will help you “Learn Along to Get a Lawn” that will make your yard the envy of your neighbors. On Saturday, March 16, 2013, Penn State Master Gardener, Dauphin County, Shirley Halk will share her vast knowledge on growing herbs in an entertaining presentation called “Make ‘Thyme’ for Herbs.”
Finally, on Saturday, March 23, 2013, Eric Vorodi, a certified arborist, will present “Tree Pruning 101,” teaching participants the basics of all aspects of pruning just in time for spring.
The fee for each workshop costs $7.00 or $30.00 for all five workshops if you register in advance. Registration deadline is the Wednesday before each workshop and cost will be $10.00 per person.
