National Farm Safety Week September 16 -22 and last edition of “The PSU Ag Safety Newsletter”
Posted: September 13, 2012
Each year during this special week, farm safety advocates write articles and public-service announcements to share with farm and ranch families nationwide. The National Education Center for Agricultural Safety (NECAS), in partnership with the National Safety Council, oversees National Farm Safety & Health Week and develops and disseminates important safety and health information and educational materials. Resources are posted on the NECAS website. They can be accessed by anyone interested in reading or downloading information to share in their communities. Current postings include information from the University of Florida, Country Financial, the National Association of County Agricultural Agents, and the New York Center for Agricultural Medicine and Health.
On a related note, after more than 23 years, this week marks the end of an era for the PSU Agricultural Safety and Health Newsletter. Articles for the final issue include: AgSafety4u, Fire Prevention Week, Farm Safety & Health Week, Combine Fire Prevention, Jump Start a Battery, Blocking & Chocking, Fuel Storage: Benefits/Risks, and Back Pain. The website has the newsletter final and archived editions, is currently undergoing redesign, and will continue to provide relevant and up-to-date resources on agricultural health and safety issues into the future.
