2012 Dauphin County 4-H Summer Camps

Experience 4-H for the summer, Dauphin County 4-H will be offering several day camps for students ages 6 - 12. Come and join us for this summer camp program and learn skills that will last a lifetime.
June 27 - 29, 2012, “Wildlife Exploration” (THIS CAMP HAS REACHED ITS LIMIT OF 20 CAMPERS.)
July 10, 2012, “Garden Appreciation” Develop an appreciation for the sun, rain, worms, good bugs, and outdoor gardens. We will have an encompassing activities and projects filled day. The garden is the foundation for integrated learning. This is a great camp to introduce our young campers to the wonderful world of gardens. Cost is $20.00 per person (includes snack). July 11 – 13, 2012 “Bees, Bats, Butterflies, Oh My!” Learn who the pollinators are, what they do, and why we need them. Penn State Extension Master Gardeners will guide campers through this three day camp filled with fun hands-on activities, games, and crafts. Cost is $60.00 per person (includes snack). July 16 – 18, 2012, “Pet Care” This summer camp will focus on the art of Pet Care whether you have a goldfish, dog, cat, horse, chicken or cavy. We want to help you become the best Pet Care Taker you can be. If you don't have the pet of your dreams this camp will help you learn tools for that future family member. July 20, 2012, “Junk Drawer Robotics” In Junk Drawer Robotics, campers will learn the science behind how things work. Using everyday objects, our campers will work collaboratively on a team learning about friction and design while building their own “Clip Mobile.” The day will end when our teams line up their “Clip Mobiles” in the ultimate race. It will be a fun filled day of experiments and challenges. Cost is $45.00 per person (includes snack).
July 23 – 27, 2012, “Performing Theatre & Technology Arts” Lights, camera, action. This camp is for all of the young actors and directors out there. The week will be packed with all sides of the theatre from being on stage, behind the scenes, learning about cinema photography and still photography. Campers will create their very own stop-motion films and be a part of a stage production. At the end of the week campers will have all their creations on a c.d. to take home and share with all their friends family. Cost is $80.00 per person (includes snack). August 6 – 10, 2012, “Food Science” (THIS CAMP HAS REACHED ITS LIMIT OF 20 CAMPERS.)
August 13 – 14, 2012, “Clover Chef” will focus on the If you have completed the challenge of 4-H Food Science Camp this year or you were in our 2011 Baking Camp please join us for this challenging and fun kitchen camp where campers will be able to highlight their kitchen skills when competing with a team for the title of “Clover Chef 2012”. Each day new challenges will let our campers explore and experiment in the kitchen to make tasty treats and meals of their own creation. Cost is $40.00 per person (includes snack).
Campers please bring a bagged lunch for each day. Time: 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Place: Dauphin County Agriculture & Natural Resources Center, Dauphin.
