Save the Date for Cumberland County Plant Fest May 19
Posted: April 23, 2012
The plant sale runs from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., rain or shine, on the grounds of Claremont Nursing & Rehab Center, 1000 Claremont Road, Carlisle. Look for the big tents at the corner of Claremont Road and Army Heritage Drive.
The Master Gardeners will be offering great prices on native plants from area growers and treasured plants from their own gardens, as well as wildlife-friendly plants, vegetables, and herbs. Landscape plugs of hard-to-find and unusual varieties from North Creek Nurseries, suitable for small landscaping jobs, will also be available.
Receive a free native plant with purchase of $50 or more. Free wildflower meadow seed “balls” will also be given away while supplies last. Buckets of “black gold” (composted horse manure) will also be available for purchase, with proceeds benefiting the 4-H Horse and Pony Club Cloverbuds.
There will be native plant information and exhibits, a plant clinic to answer your garden questions, a book and magazine sale, a gardeners’ yard sale, and a food stand. Tours of the Claremont Community Gardens will also be given. Children are welcome if accompanied by an adult. Get your spring planting off to a great start by coming to Plant Fest 2012.
