PENN STATE MASTER GARDENERS READY TO GROW IN THE GARDEN
Posted: February 10, 2012
Topics include “Starting Your Garden From Scratch,” with tips on planning, site evaluation, and soil preparation; “Growing and Harvesting Herbs” for use in the kitchen; “Growing Upwards in the Garden” with ideas for vertical gardening and other techniques to grow more vegetables in less space; and “Getting More from Your (Small) Garden” by using raised beds, intensive gardening, and succession gardening. Light morning refreshments and handouts are included. And yes, if the weather’s nice, we’ll go outside.
The workshop fee is only $5.00 and pre-registration is requested by March 21. Class size is limited. Call the Cumberland County Extension office at 717-240-6500 to register. Penn State programs are open to all, and Penn State is committed to affirmative action, equal opportunity, and the diversity of its workforce.
