Lou Sallie assumed the position of Administrative Secretary/Chief Administrative Officer of the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau on May 1, 1992. Sallie also holds the position of Executive Director the PA Friends of Agriculture Foundation, the educational foundation supported by the PA Farm Bureau.
Prior to that date, Sallie was a Northeast Regional Field Service Director for the American Farm Bureau Federation since 1984. He was responsible for working with state Farm Bureau's in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, West Virginia and Pennsylvania.
Sallie began his career with the New York Farm Bureau, first as a field man and then as Director of Organization.
After ten years with New York, he joined the staff of the American Farm Bureau.
Professional organizations Sallie belongs to include: University of Pennsylvania Board of Overseers, serving as chair of the Government and Legislative Committee. Pennsylvania Highway Information Association on their Board, Highmark Corporate Board and as a member of the Harrisburg Trade Association Executives.
He received his B.S. in Social Science and Physical Education from Bluefield State College, Bluefield, West Virginia.
Sallie and his wife Sue live in Carlisle, and they are the parents of three children and grandparents of four grandchildren.
