Jean Lonie
Jean Lonie has more than 15 years of communications experience in the agricultural industry, in both the private and public sectors. She is currently employed with Pfizer Animal Health. Prior to her employment with Pfizer, she was employed with the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, where she served as Director of Communications and Executive Assistant to the Pennsylvania Secretary of Agriculture. In this role, Jean oversaw all internal and external communication efforts, agency performance measures and strategic planning, the organization's Agricultural Education initiatives and the day-to-day logistics and planning for the Secretary.
Prior to her appointment at the PA Department of Agriculture, Jean was with the School District of Philadelphia, serving as the Agriculture Career and Technical Education Coordinator. In this role she served as an on-site program administrator at W.B. Saul High School of Agricultural Sciences. Before that, Jean worked at Farm Journal as a direct mail/database management representative, and later as Marketing Manager for the organization's livestock publications. She also brings to her new role experience with industry associations having worked as the Promotional Web Specialist for the U. S. Holstein Association and as the Special Projects Coordinator for the American Mushroom Institute.
A native of Philadelphia, Jean was an active FFA member at W.B. Saul High School and is still active with the Pennsylvania FFA. She earned her B.S. in Agriculture from the University of Delaware, her MBA from Eastern University, and is a graduate of the Pennsylvania Rural Leadership Program.
