My Community: What's the Plan?
Students understand how communities are planned.
Designed for middle- and high-school students, they understand the impacts of specific land-use decisions. They also learn about the importance of being involved in one's community, aspects of community conflict and economic development and the importance of community economic needs assessments. A small-scale model village allows hands-on experience with community layout, agricultural preservation and smart growth concepts.
Audience: Ages 10-18 in middle- and high-school classes and community youth development groups
Schedule: Program lengths and delivery methods vary and are determined in consultation with partners and audience.
Fee: $95 per day/event for schools and community organizations
