As we move into the summer season, the lack of fresh, locally grown food is replaced by a bounty. Many of us will be heading to farmers markets or participating in CSA’s (Community Supported Agriculture), which are fun and social ways to stimulate the local economy and bring home the freshest and tastiest fruits and vegetables.

How does growing up in your county impact how much a child will earn across their life time? A recent New York Times article reported that research conducted by two Harvard professors found that where children grow up has a large impact on future income, and upward mobility of children. The research provides estimates of how much living in a county adds or takes away from the future incomes of kids growing up in poor, average-income, rich and the top 1% family income homes.
