To conserve soil and nutrients and protect water quality, a team comprised of Penn State Extension and USDA-ARS scientists are demonstrating shallow-disk manure injection and cover crop rolling with eight cooperating Pennsylvania farms. With funding from the USDA-NRCS Conservation Innovation Grant program, the team bought four shallow-disk manure injectors and two cover crop roller-crimpers for use in four regions of PA.
