Supporters Drive 4-H Endowment to $37,000
After four years of fundraising, the Clinton County 4-H Endowment has now reached almost $37,000! While these funds will remain in the Endowment, the interest is being put right back into the current county 4-H Program. Last year, about $1,500 in interest was available for 4-H programming needs. This number will only increase as the total value of the endowment grows.
Funds gained from interest on the 4-H Endowment are being used directly in the Clinton County 4-H Program. It has provided kits for the Quality Animal Management trainings required by every 4-H member involved in Animal Science projects. 4-H members have received scholarships to participate in the Dale Carnegie Course being offered this winter and a 4-H Center is being implemented at the Clinton County Extension Office for members and volunteers to use for enrollments and other 4-H purposes.
All those who have worked to support The Clinton County 4-H Endowment should be commended for addressing a need that is more evident now than ever. 4-H provides opportunities and skills that members will have for a lifetime. The impacts 4-H has on Clinton County Youth can be seen throughout the community as they mature into engaged and active citizens. We truly appreciate all contributions to the 4-H program and its future.
While this is a huge accomplishment for the County 4-H Program, it should not be misunderstood to end the need to raise funds for the Clinton County 4-H Endowment. The purpose of the Clinton County 4-H Endowment is to secure the 4-H program in the event that other funding is not available. So, in order to deem the program truly secure for years to come, our goal is to raise $500,000 over the next 10 years. If you would like to donate to the Clinton County 4-H Endowment, please contact your Penn State Extension Office at (570) 726-0022.
