TREE TENDERS TRAINING TO BE HELD IN ERIE ON FRIDAY APRIL 13
At least one out of five people in the United States live in an urban area, and more of us move to cities and towns each year. Our community landscapes are changing in response to competition for space in the face of diminished maintenance funds. Responding to this alarming loss, TreeVitalize is a public-private partnership restoring tree cover, educating citizens, planting trees, and building local environmental capacity. To enable municipalities and community volunteers, cooperating partners host TreeTender© training on Friday April 13 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Tom Ridge Environmental Center, 301 Peninsula Drive, in Erie.
All are welcome to this day-long regional training. For more information, or to pre-register, call Penn State Cooperative Extension in Crawford County at 814-333-7460 by April 6. Registration Costs are $25 to cover costs of this offering. Sponsors of this event are USDA Forest Service, State and Private Forestry. Penn State encourages individuals with disabilities to participate in its programs and activities. If you anticipate needing special accommodations or have questions about the physical access provided, please contact Scott Sjolander at 814-333-7460.
