Gardening 101 a Success

Just a few of the Master Gardeners who participated.
Adults and children alike enjoyed "Gardening 101: It's Easier Than You Think!" at the 4-H Romano Center on April 30. Children chatted with D.B. Pest, the bug robot, while adults visited stations on butterfly gardening, composting, attracting birds to the garden, soil testing, pruning, herb gardening, and more. Talks on vegetable gardening and deer management were well attended, as were demonstrations on making a living wreath and composting.
The plant and gardening book sale was a particular hit, with many bargains and hard-to-find plants. Exhibitors provided infomation on Lyme Disease, CSAs, environmental protection, and more.
