PA Farm Egg Quality Assurance Training and Study Participation
Posted: June 1, 2012
The FDA is planning to implement the "Egg Safety Rule" requirements this year on July 9, 2012, for farms with 3,000 to 50,000 hens. To help you understand your obligations in the coming months, we at PSU Cooperative Extension are offering training to prepare an Se plan; biosecurity plan; monitor, control, and conduct rodent and fly indexing and other procedures. This is a great opportunity to hear about the rule and recommended procedures to comply when they inspect your farm. This is also a great chance to ask questions. This training is also available for farms with less than 3,000 hens that just want to learn good procedures to protect their hens, eggs, and customers from Salmonella enteritidis. Please see the announcement below and attached flyer, and consider attending.
