Farm Hack – A Community for Farm Innovation
Posted: May 30, 2012
How does Farm Hack work? Anyone can participate in the Farm Hack project by sharing ideas through the forum – a place to post and chat about specific ideas – or the blog where you can provide feedback on a technology or ask questions on the topic.
Past designs include a mobile biodiesel processing trailer, FIDO – a greenhouse monitoring system with text alerts (still in the works) and a simple top bar bee hive, among many other creative designs that may be useful on your farm. Also on the website? I list of helpful mobile apps for farmers.
Farm Hack also hosts events across the U.S. where farmers, engineers, product designers and others interested in dreaming of innovative technology to sustainable solve on-farm issues come together to brainstorm and begin designing.
Farm Hack is strictly run by volunteers and generous donations. It is truly built by the farmers, for the farmers benefit.
To check out the innovations created, or participate in the forum or blog, visit the Farm Hack website at www.farmhack.net.
