1.1: Horticulture in PA
According to the National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS), Pennsylvania producers harvested over 91,900 acres of horticultural crops in 2009. These acres included tree fruits, vegetables (including potatoes), and vineyards. Its topography and close proximity to valuable markets makes Pennsylvania well-suited for horticultural production.
